Chapter 1

The Servants of the King

January 27, 2013  |  Joe Boot

As Christians we have inherited Christ's great name, and we're His heirs. As we take Christ's name, we inherit all that is His.

Chapter 2

Meditation and Subjection

February 3, 2013  |  David Robinson

We are not merely to speak against certain issues; we are seeking to be like Christ and to point people to Christ.  We are to restore the garden of Eden in the world around us, working and keeping our "gardens."

True Atonement

February 10, 2013  |  Joe Boot

As Christ emerged triumphant over death, so in our suffering God works His victorious purposes.

Chapter 3

God-Centered Obedience

February 17, 2013  |  Joe Boot

Israel thought that they were the goal, the end, the people. God was to serve them. This attitude is reflected in the church today. Jesus says, Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. That generation of Israelites died in the wilderness due to their rebellion. Disobedience always cuts us off from God's blessing. We should not presume upon our status, but obey Christ as the greater Moses.

Chapter 4

The Meaning of Rest

March 3, 2013  |  Joe Boot
We rest celebrating the accomplished atonement and the fullness of our salvation: sins forgiven, debts paid, death defeated, and the new creation is at work in our lives.

If you are plagued by fear, anxiety, and depression because of dwelling on your sin, stop it and fix your eyes on Jesus.

Chapter 5

The High Priest

March 17, 2013  |  Joe Boot

In a world locked up by guilt, real and imagined, Christ's blood atonement is difficult to accept and yet urgently needed. We have transferred the notion of Christ as sin bearer, placing collective guilt upon groups of people termed 'oppressors.'

On to Maturity

March 24, 2013  |  David Robinson

Our obedience is not the source of salvation; our obedience is our response to Christ's salvation. We are to turn ugly into beautiful, to right evil with goodness, and to replace darkness with light.

Chapter 6

Perseverance Toward Maturity

April 7, 2013  |  Joe Boot

Contemporary evangelicalism muddles the Gospel and builds on a poor foundation. The result is ineffectiveness and collapse.

Hope and Promise

April 14, 2013  |  Scott Masson

The faithlessness of the church has brought about a curse upon our nation. But the situation can and will change because God Himself will accomplish His own work.

Chapter 7

Accreditation

April 21, 2013  |  Joe Boot

Though Jesus is not of the line of Levi, He is entitled to the office of high priest after the order of Melchizedek. Abraham's payment of a tithe shows that Melchizedek was greater than he. Like Abraham, we are obligated to tithe to our priest-king Jesus. People often crave the accreditation of men idolatrously. All institutions are to be established under the authority of God. So in every area of activity, we are to seek the approval of God, and not men.

Perfect Permanent Priesthood

May 5, 2013  |  Scott Masson

We live in a culture of self-righteousness and so we recoil at any hint that we need to be righteous. Political correctness itself is a kind of self-righteousness, smugly condemning those who believe in moral absolutes.

Chapter 8

The True Tabernacle

May 12, 2013  |  David Robinson
The priests ministered in an earthly tabernacle, set up by men and subject to destruction by men. But Christ ministers in an eternal tabernacle, which is secure.

Law and Atonement

May 19, 2013  |  Joe Boot

May 26, 2013  |  Joe Boot
The whole purpose of salvation is to make us free to serve the living God. Knowing the truth will make us free (John 8:32). Only free people can work toward a free world.

New Covenant Sacrifice

June 2, 2013  |  David Robinson

Our culture is sick with sin, unable to give, to be kind, to love; it needs atonement. Many people know in their bones that something is wrong and they are longing for God. There is redemption. Christ's death has redeemed us from the wages of breaking the old covenant: death and eternal separation from God.

Jesus Christ our Prophet, Priest and King

June 9, 2013  |  Scott Masson

Our culture of guilt lacks integrity such that we do not trust one another, and we increase regulations and bureaucracy in response.

The Call to Service

June 16, 2013  |  Joe Boot

No Turning Back - The Faithful Life

June 23, 2013  |  Joe Boot

Redeeming Redefined Sexuality

April 1, 2013  |  Jennifer Forbes

Scripture repeatedly exhorts us to honor marriage and sex as perfect gifts from God. To rebel against the biblical prescriptions for sex and marriage is not liberation, but confusion and slavery.
