Acts of the Apostles and The Mission of God

Paul spoke to the Jewish leaders of the Hope of Israel: the Kingdom of God manifested in the resurrection of Christ. As with all Paul's preaching to the Jews, some believed the message of faith in Jesus and others did not (Acts 28:24). God's Word cannot be put under arrest. Likewise the gospel in our time will ultimately succeed. Acts ends with the gospel witness spreading from Rome, and today the power of the gospel is operative in Toronto.

The gospel ministry is the most exciting adventure you could devote your life to.

We must not be hasty or presumptuous when listening for God's call for our lives.

The church must recognize spiritual battle if we are to see evangelism advance in our day. Paul was anointed by God, such that he was recognized by both heaven and by hell. We need a revival in Toronto based on the Word of God.

Confronted with intellectual pluralism, idolatry, and biblical illiteracy, Paul was neither naive nor obscurantist. He was equipped in worldly learning, and he was able to proclaim God's Word powerfully.

In Acts 15, we see a conflict of authority and a conflict of doctrine. We live in a lawless age in which Christians reject authority. Acting in Jesus' name without the blessing of the church is dangerous.
