The Privilege of Worship
Worship is our response to God as He reveals Himself to us in His Word and in His world; that is what it means to be human. Worship for many believers is stunted because they have an inadequate view of God; their God is not sovereign, He is not victorious in history.
The Good Shepherd
Christ not only redeems us, but He continues to act creatively in His world governing all things down to the details.
The Light of His Countenance
The world turns justice on its head, but God sets apart His covenant people and watches over them.
Hallowed Be Thy Name
God's name is not hallowed because His throne is not recognized. The problem is idolatry.
Created for Joy
The deepest longings of the soul are only satisfied in God. We are all worshipers at heart, and we are conformed to the image of the thing that we worship.
A Mighty Fortress is Our God
We don't like to speak of those who oppose God as our enemies. But because they hate Christ, they also hate us. We need to recognize that, and stop deluding ourselves that we can remove the offense of the Gospel. To God's enemies: Be still. That is, stop your futile resistance against God. The battle is won. What appear to be battles are mere skirmishes on the plain of victory. When we avail ourselves of the power of God, we will see God moving mightily.
Seeds of Regeneration
Our task is to sow the seed of regeneration everywhere by the work and power of the Holy Spirit. We should not place false confidence in man's enlightened reason to transform society.
The Helper and the Keeper
When we face trouble, we need to look away from ourselves and look to God for rescue.
The Unity of the Body
There does not need to be peace and tranquility for there to be unity. Covenant community life in the body of Christ is messy. We are called to tolerate one another's faults and forebear with one another.
